Peter Kersteman Duck

July 6, 1945 –May 17, 2025

Peter Duck passed away peacefully in Cobourg on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 with Peter Connelly, his loving husband and partner of 42 years, by his side. Beloved son of the late Joan and Alfred Duck.Cherished cousin of Fran Reid, and dear brother-in-law of Joan Leonard (Ron), Denise Connelly and Maree Garth (Paul). Peter will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.

Peter, fondly known as “the duck”, was born in Toronto and spent his life immersed in the world of fashion. His commitment to his students and the fashion industry made him a much-respected professor at Ryerson University (now TMU) where he taught until his retirement. His one great passion was the annual staging of the Mass Exodus show.

Peter was interested in people and believed in giving back. Throughout his life he volunteered and supported many causes including Fashion Group, Fashion Forum, the YMCA, riding in the Friends for Life Bike Rally, and most recently the A.C.O in Port Hope.

Always stylish with a glass of wine in hand Peter loved to share stories of his life which often revolved around his world travels and time spent living in Hong Kong and Paris. He was a good friend to all and will be deeply missed.

A private cremation was held and arrangements for Peter’s celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
